Michael is a native of Naples, FL where he was a two-time U.S. Lacrosse All-America, two-time Naples Daily News Player-of-the-Year selection, four-year all-area selection, and a 2015 Florida first-team All-State selection. He went on to play at Colby College his freshman season and started 13 games. He took a chance and walked on at the University of North Carolina where he was a two-year starter for the Tarheels, collected 34 groundballs, and forced 20 turnovers in three years at Chapel Hill.
