Nate Gowen

Coach

Nate is a native of Buffalo, NY where he grew up playing for the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy. He was a defenseman and a long stick midfielder for Amherst high school where he earned 3x first-team All-league, 2x All Western New York and All-American honors. From there, Nate went on to play at Rutgers University. Unfortunately, a major back injury sidelined him and eventually led to a spinal surgery, ending his career. Since then, Nate has continued to be involved in the game of lacrosse through coaching and training. He has experience as a coach for the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy and as an assistant coach for the Amherst Modified Lacrosse team, in addition to working with many other camps and tournaments in Western New York. He is the head coach at Philip Simmons High School where he started the program in 2021.
